Thanksgiving Day

By Sidney

So once in every year we throng

Upon a day apart

To praise the Lord with feast and song

In thankfulness of our heart

Arthur Guiterman

Got no check books, got no banks.

Still I´d like to express my thanks –

I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night.

Irving Berlin

Thanksgiving Day is a very popular day for eating! Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. These are just a few of the foods when Thanksgiving Day comes around. Families all get together and have a big feast.. Reminiscing on good times.

It is a happy time of the year.

Fall is ending. The leaves have fallen off the trees. The mood changes when Thanksgiving comes around. Everyone is happy and there isn´t a care in the world. But let´s not forget the reason we have Thanksgiving…

Thanksgiving is when the Indians and Pilgrims worked together and learned to live together, despite their many differences. The Indians taught the Pilgrims how to grow crops, and hunt. Without the help of the Indians the Pilgrims would not have survived the harsh winters.

Thanksgiving is a day to look back on everything we have to be thankful for.

In my family, it is tradition to write on multiple pieces of paper everything we are thankful for and put them in jar. About 2 months later we open the jar and read what everyone is thankful for.

This is just a way to remember how special everything we have is. Whether it be family, friends, or a house to live in.

We are all very grateful this time of year.
