Doctor? Doctor who?

Is your life boring? Do you study or work all day and can’t travel?
Do you want to change your life and escape from the daily routine? Are you exhausted or do you dream about fantastic adventures? Well… You need a doctor. But not an ordinary one…A lot of people met him in different centuries but, while they grew old, he didn’t seem to have aged a single day.

He is the Doctor, the last of the Time Lords; he can travel in time and space and takes a lot of people with him. His name always appears in history, and so does his time machine, but the Doctor doesn’t remain the same.

He changes his body over time to cheat death with the biological ability of his race: regeneration. It allows Time Lords to change every single cell of their body, so they also change their face and their personality.

The Doctor’s time machine usually changes with him on the inside, but it always remains a blue police box called ‘T.A.R.D.I.S’.

If you close your eyes and concentrate you’ll hear a strange noise, the most beautiful sound in the world… now run to your window: can you see a blue box? Oh no, don’t be afraid! Just bring with you essential things and expect to see new galaxies or horrible monsters, flying in space or singing with John Lennon.

When you first join the Doctor you may  be confused or terrified, but remember that you can always trust him.

However, before starting your journey with the Doctor you have to know something:

  • He is definitely a madman in a blue box
  • Time is not a straight line but it’s a “wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff
  • Don’t blink
  • Bowties are cool
  • Always take a banana to a party
  • Fish fingers and custard
  • Geronimo
  • Count the shadows
  • Run: you may be  e x t e r m i n a t e d

Now you can become the doctor’s  new companion…

So, sit on your armchair, turn off the lights, go to BBC channel and get ready to become a whovian!

Ready? Allons-y!
