Game of the week

Prototype

Hi guys! Here I am, writing about a video game! This is the first time I’ve written a post on a video game, because I’ve always written posts about music. But stop wasting time, let’s start! 😉

Today I’m going to write about one of my favourite video games, Prototype. It’s an action-adventure game: it is set in New York City and you can walk, run and go everywhere, so it’s also an open world game. The plot is amazing! 😀

The game is set, as I said before, in New York City, in 2009. A powerful virus, called Blacklight, is ravaging Manhattan. This virus mutates people into horrible monsters, except for one: Alex Mercer, the protagonist of the game. In fact, Alex is only partially mutated , and when he wakes up in a laboratory, with no memories, he discovers to have superpowers.

Cool, isn’t it? 😀

During the game, Alex recovers his memory, “absorbing” the objectives of the plot and consuming the most powerful monsters to gain their powers.

It is indeed a very addictive game with a very intricate plot, perfect for lovers of action 😉

But that’s not all! After completing various missions (primary and secondary) you’ll receive points (PE) to be used to enhance your powers and become even stronger! You can run faster, jump higher and longer and perform amazing combos!

In addiction to passive skills (running on walls, superjump), there are active ones:

  • Blade

  • Claws

  • Whipfist

  • Musclemass
  • Hammerfist

  • Shield

  • Armor

It’s a very vast game and you’ll always want to play, without ever getting tired! 😀

In 2012  the sequel of Prototype was released, entitled Prototype 2:

I’ve already played it and that’s a beautiful game, too: I was satisfied with some things and disappointed for others, but I’m going to talk about it in another post 😉

I’ve never seen such a beautiful video game as Prototype!

Bye, see you in the next post. Good gaming! 😀
